About Us

Introduction

We have been running our training sessions since 2018. In that time we have coached over 50 juniors and numerous adults too. We were previously known as Swavesey Juniors but due to our ambition to grow and expand, we rebranded as Impact Badminton Academy.

Our success has been featured in Badminton England news and we were even the subject of one of their official photoshoots! We are also recognized by Living Sport. Our Founder/ Head Coach was a finalist for Living Sport’s ‘Community Volunteer of the Year Award’ in 2019. We have good connections with Cambrigeshire Badminton Association and have produced a number of county players.

We also run a Junior Ambassador Scheme, our Advanced juniors have the opportunity to help our younger members and learn how to coach!

Our Sessions

Impact Training Sessions

We run three group sessions at Swavesey Village College for children between the ages of 5 and 18.

Advanced – Mondays 5.30 to 7.30pm

Intermediate – Thursdays 5.30 to 6.30pm

Beginner – Fridays 5.30 to 7pm

The sessions are run during SVC’s term times and the fees must be paid on a termly basis. Please contact us for more information.

Group Coaching

We also offer group coaching for people of all ages. These sessions are often utilised by doubles partners looking to compete and improve their cohesive movement, tactical awareness, speed, communication, collaboration, etc…

These sessions are also popular with juniors too. It’s a fun activity to do with friends whilst learning new skills and keeping fit!

The sessions can be run in various venues across Cambridgeshire. The fees vary based on group size and the court cost. Please enquire for more details.

Individual Coaching

Our one to one coaching sessions are a great way to improve your game at an accelerated rate. They’re the ideal way to perfect technique and footwork; improve accuracy, consistency, speed, agility, etc…

We tailor these sessions to you. We will discuss your goals then Impact will create personalized training plans to help you achieve them! For juniors looking to compete at County level, these sessions are essential.

The sessions can be run in various venues across Cambridgeshire. We charge £25 per hour excluding the court fee.
